Thermal description of transverse - momentum spectra at RHIC ∗

چکیده
We present a simple model describing the p⊥-spectra of hadrons measured at RHIC at √ sNN = 130 GeV. Our approach is a combination of the thermal model, used frequently in the studies of the relative hadron yields [1–9], with a model of the hydrodynamic expansion of matter at freeze-out. The main assumptions of the model [10–12] are as follows: i) the chemical freeze-out and the thermal freeze-out occur simultaneously, which means that we neglect elastic rescattering after the chemical freeze-out, ii) all hadronic resonances are included in both the calculation of the hadron multiplicities and the spectra, and iii) a simple form of the freeze-out hypersurface is proposed, which is a generalization of the Bjorken model [13] (see also [14–19]),

On the thermal nature of charmonium transverse momentum spectra from Au-Au collisions at RHIC
We discuss the transverse momentum distribution of J/ψ mesons produced in Au + Au collisions at the top RHIC energy. We argue that the data on the corresponding spectra do not necessarily imply an essential non-thermal J/ψ emission: the peculiarities of the spectra slopes at RHIC can be interpreted as evidence for flow fluctuations of thermal matter formed in A+A collisions. We present a blast-...

The single-freeze-out model of hadron production is used to describe the particle ratios and the transverse-momentum spectra from RHIC. The emphasis is put on the new measurements done at the highest beam energy of √ sNN=200 GeV. An overall very good agreement is found between the data and the model predictions. The data for different centrality windows are analyzed separately. A simple scaling...

In ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions, in the 2 GeV< p ⊥ < 6 GeV transverse momentum region, the soft and semi-hard multiple scattering of the incoming nucleons in the nuclear medium results in the broadening of the expected hadronic (e.g. pion) p ⊥ spectra relative to proton-proton (pp) collisions. Thus, higher transverse-momentum regions are populated than in pp collisions. In a perturbat...
